Evan N. Miller, DDS MS
Dr. Miller received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1985 and
his DDS degree from the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry in 1989. He then went on to specialty
training in Endodontics, receiving his Certificate of Endodontics from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas,
Texas and a Master of Science from Baylor University, in Waco, Texas, both, in 1991. Dr. Miller joined
Charlotte Endodontics later that same year where he remains in full time clinical practice. He became a
Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics (“board certified” by a series of written, case presentation and
oral examinations) in 2002 and remains a member of the American Board’s College of Diplomates.
Dr. Miller has had the privilege of serving Dentistry in North Carolina, locally and regionally, through his service
in numerous organizations. He became an officer of the Second District of the North Carolina Dental Society
(the western Piedmont), assuming the role of President in 2013. In Charlotte, specifically, Dr. Miller served as
an officer of the Charlotte Dental Society for nearly a decade, rising to its President in 2006. Dr. Miller is a
founding member of the Ambassadors of NCMOM-Charlotte, the local outreach component of the North
Carolina Dental Society’s NCMOM (North Carolina Missions of Mercy), serving as its Co-Chairman in all four of
its clinics: In 2011, 2012 and 2014 with the late Dr. Kenneth D. Owen and in 2016, with Dr. C. Scott Davenport.
Dr. Miller was also an associate professor at Carolinas Medical Center’s Dental Residency Program for over 15
In statewide service, Dr. Miller was an officer of the Tarheel Endodontic Association, rising to its President in
1999. He also served as one of three trustees for the Tarheel Endodontic Education Foundation in two
separate terms. For the North Carolina Dental Society, he has been a member of numerous committees, to
include Chairing the NC Dental Society’s Service Committee. He was also Secretary of the North Carolina
Dental PAC. Dr. Miller served as a member of the Board of Directors of the former Medical Security Insurance
Company and is now a member of the North Carolina Advisory Committee to Eastern Dentists Insurance
Company. He has been and remains a volunteer at NCMOM clinics throughout the state and participated in a
teaching/service mission to Nicaragua, in 2003.
At his alma maters, Dr. Miller was honored to serve on the Board of Directors of the UNC Dental School’s
Steering Committee and UNC’s North Carolina Dental Foundation, assuming the role of President in 2013. He
has also served on the Board of Directors for the East Mecklenburg High School Foundation (All-Star Teacher
Initiative), and specifically, the role of Vice President.
Dr. Miller has been humbled and honored in becoming a member of East Mecklenburg High School’s “Wall of
Fame” in 2009 and becoming the recipient of the UNC Dental Alumni Association’s Distinguished Service
Award in 2017 and the North Carolina Dental Society’s Citizenship Award in 2014. He was also honored in
being invited to and becoming a member of the American College of Dentists, the International College of
Dentists and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
He remains a member of the Charlotte Dental Society, Second District Dental Society, the North Carolina
Dental Society, the Tarheel Endodontic Association, the Tarheel Endodontic Education Foundation, the
American Dental Association, the American Association of Endodontists, the American Board of Endodontics,
the American Board of Endodontists’ College of Diplomates, the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology,
the Southern Endodontic Study Group and the Excellence in Endodontics Study Club.
Dr. Miller was born in Charlotte and raised in Matthews, attending Matthews Elementary, Carmel Junior High
and East Mecklenburg High Schools. He is a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral in
Charlotte and a founding member of Saint Nektarios Greek Orthodox Cathedral, in Matthews. He has been a
member of the Campos Qrusaders of Charlotte’s Freedom Park, since the group’s inception in 2006.
